Play day project with Kelly
A copper and lampwork bead bracelet I’ve been working on for the past few days. The idea for this bracelet came from Mary Hettmansperger’s book Wrap, Stitch, Fold & Rivet. Hopefully I have a finished picture soon.

I’ve had a hard time getting motivated and working in my studio lately. But after a few weeks away I made a set that I fell in love with, so much so I made a necklace and pair earrings out of some of these latest beads.

What happens to my beads?

I always wonder what happens to the beads I sell, do they end up in a box or made into something pretty to wear.
These beads were sold over the summer and the customers sent me appreciation photos. I’m proud to see that my beads will be worn and enjoyed. Very nice!! Thank you for taking the time and showing me your finished work.

When I first started doing lampwork beads 3 years ago I wanted to make “pretty” beads. I found a wonderful group at WetCanvas Glass Art that had a bead exchange for Halloween beads. I joined and decided to make black cats with pumpkins and I think that is when I fell in love with doing pet caricatures.
These were my first sculptural beads. Oh my I’ve come a long way LOL

I’ve made a lot of beads in the past 3 years but I think these are my first “pretty” beads, I think of them as jewels.
